In today's AI era, it's easy to generate huge amounts of code, PowerPoint slides, documentation, email replies, you name it.
Everything is so noisy and bloated because people copy-paste output from their agent chats and think they are done. I see more confusion across the teams and people at work, like never before. Clarity became a luxury.
That being said, there is a small, simple thing you can do at your work that will have people seeing you as more competent, more senior, more valuable.
This goes to people with any type of job.
You probably noticed that at work there are people who are sources of confusion and people who are sources of clarity. You obviously want to be in the second group.
When people walk away from an interaction with you, you want them to feel they understand things better.
And here is one thing that will help you be the source of clarity.
Before communicating or copy-pasting output from your agent, ask yourself three questions:
What level of detail this person or group actually need?
What's in it for them?
What action do I want from them once they've read this?
Try it on the next Teams message you're about to send, or the next agent output you're about to paste. Stop for one minute and answer these three questions by yourself (not AI), and remove everything that doesn't fit the answers. What's left is the core information the other person needs.
Anyone can produce more these days, so more doesn't impress anyone.
